Resources for Teachers

There are many resources for teachers in the Kingdom of Tonga.

There are many expatriate Tongan families face special educational and cultural challenges in the United States and Canada. Those students face special difficulties because their teachers lack an experience and understanding of their language, culture, and heritage.

The Pacific Islands Resources Center (PIRC), a non-profit organization located in Washington State, provides seminars, lectures, teaching materials, and travel programs to orient teachers to the unique needs of students in their classrooms from Tonga and other South Pacific islands.

These services are available in the United States and in Tonga and can be offered in conjunction with a Tonga vacation, or as a stand-alone program. For more information, please email PIRC.
